FAQs
Is there a limit to the number of appointments I can schedule?
There are no limits! You can schedule as many appointments as you feel are required. You may schedule your visits in-person, via HIPAA-Compliant ZOOM.
Do you offer virtual visits?
Yes, through our patient portal you can schedule an appointment for a secure Zoom (online video) visit.
Will I need to pay copays or deductibles?
Direct Primary care is not insurance. There are no copays or deductibles and we don’t accept or bill insurance companies. You may still want insurance to pay for labs and imaging (when needed) but these will be offered to you at our contracted cash rate for those services at those facilities.
Do I have access to special pricing on things like X-rays, MRIs, bloodwork, etc?
Yes, our patients receive special pricing for these services. You’ll be surprised at how cost-effective the negotiated cash prices are.
If I need a specialist, can you refer me?
Yes, we will refer you when needed and, if preferred, try to find a specialist that accepts cash. Then, we will help coordinate care with your specialists and hospitalists.
Who is a good candidate for the direct primary care model?
DPC is the perfect option for;
- anyone 18 years or age or older
- those without health insurance but still need consistent, quality care
- anyone tired of the same healthcare experiences and is looking for a better doctor/patient relationship
- preventative care to stay healthy
- treatment of any acute medical condition (not life-threatening/non-emergent)
- treatment of any chronic medical condition (non-surgical, non-obstetrics)
Is direct primary care a form of insurance?
No. It is a monthly membership-based primary care. It’s recommended that you obtain health insurance to cover specialty care, major medical coverage, hospitalizations, ER visits, etc.
How are you able to spend extended time with your patients?
As a DPC physician, my initial visits with patients can be up to 60-90 minutes long, and each follow-up visit can be up to 45 minutes if needed, so the health concerns of my patients are addressed in a comprehensive way without needing to put them off to a future visit. Moreover, there are unlimited visits for the membership fee (see patient agreement for details).
